Fayette Countyian Dies in Marlin

Funeral services were held Monday, march 31 for William Quandt of Marlin, who died Saturday at the age of 83 years.  Mr. Quandt grew up near Willow Springs, later living for a time near Warrenton.  He had lived for many years at Marlin.  Among those attending the funeral were Herman, Willie, and Harry Quandt of Fayetteville, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Frenzel of Brenham.

Lt. James quitta

SCHULENBURG PILOT KILLED IN ACTION

Schulenburg, July 8.—Mrs. Earline Parma Quitta of this city received a telegram from the War Department Friday informing her that her husband, Lt. James Quitta was killed in action over Italy on June 22. Lieutenant Quitta was a bomber pilot. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Quitta of Hallettsville.
